Project Summary

SYS has been appointed by Hyundai Engineering Malaysia Sdn Bhd for the Malacca 2,242 Megawatt Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant project, focusing on the new box culvert construction at Edra Power Plant, Alor Gajah, Melaka. This project, with a contract period running from March 1, 2023, to February 28, 2025, is owned by CGN Edra.

The scope of work includes comprehensive soil improvement, dredging, marine piling, and the supply and installation of concrete box culverts. The project features 1,066 meters of cooling water intake culverts, with 80 double cell culverts (919m x 8.3m) and 8 single cell culverts (147m x 4.35m). Additionally, it involves major dredging and backfill operations, and the integration of HDPE chlorination pipes and precast concrete ballast. Key quantities include 205,000m³ of dredging, 10,000m³ of crushed stone backfill, and various structural components including 172 prestressed spun piles and 2,200 tons of concrete.
