From our early days as a drainage and irrigation contractor to becoming pioneers in dredging and reclamation, we have consistently delivered excellence and innovation in our projects Here’s our journey through the decades… 1952 Company Founded See Yong Construction was established, marking the beginning of our journey in the industry. Our founder, pictured on the right, laid the foundation for our success. 1964 Our Early Beginnings SYS started as a drainage and irrigation contractor, working with agencies like JPS (Drainage and Irrigation Dept) and JKR (Public Works Dept), marking the start of our involvement in major infrastructure projects 1967-1970 New Horizons During this period, the company was rebranded as See Yong & Son Construction, expanding into larger projects and earning a reputation for reliability. This era marked our entry into building and infrastructure works 1978 Global Milestones SYS started participating in tenders for various Agricultural Development Schemes financed by the World Bank and Asian Development Bank and successfully completed RM120 million of works under these schemes. 1979 Venturing Into Marine Works We took our first steps into marine works, gradually progressing to coastal, dredging, and reclamation through cooperation with international contractors 1985 Malaysia's First Cutter Suction Dredger Malaysia’s first cutter suction dredger was acquired by SYS in 1985. This made SYS the first local pioneer in dredging and reclamation works 1995 Advancing into Submarine Pipelines Venturing into the construction of cooling water system intake / outfall pipelines for power stations and refineries, SYS marked its first entry into the energy sector 2000-2024 Growth and Innovation As SYS entered the new decade, the focus shifted to incorporating advanced technologies and construction methods for greater efficiency and sustainability.
