SETIU SUBMARINE PIPELINE & BEACON

P174 | Submarine Pipelines & CWS

Project Summary

Blue Archipelago, a subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional, embarked on the RM150 million Integrated Shrimp Aquaculture Park and awarded Ranhill the contract for the Seawater Intake System, which included both offshore and onshore works. Ranhill procured a 1.5m ID HDPE pipeline and engaged SYS to install the 1,200m long submarine pipeline, ensuring seamless integration for the project’s water intake needs.

The project scope encompassed dredging and backfilling a 1,150m pipe trench, involving 57,500 cubic meters of material, and dredging for the intake structure with an additional 2,500 cubic meters. The installation work included laying 1,163 meters of HDPE pipeline, with diameters of 1,500 mm and 2,200 mm, from the shore to the offshore intake structure. Additionally, SYS carried out the casting and installation of 193 concrete sinkers and performed scour protection works totaling 2,260 tons. The project also included the construction of an offshore navigation tower to ensure safe maritime operations around the intake structure.
