Project Summary
The project site is a mangrove swamp which forms part of a pocket beach in the southern tip of Peninsular Malaysia. When the hinterland of the Sg. Pulai is being developed into various water resources schemes, and construction of port facilities for deep draft vessels is being implemented, the coastline at and surrounding the project site is observed to be eroding at fast rate. Mangroves are falling due to the erosion of the soil underneath them.
JC was engaged by JPS, and JC contracted SYS to address this coastline development phenomena, protects the beach from further erosion and safeguard the mangrove in the National Park with a design and built contract to protect 1.8km mangrove coastline and bakau farm with 1 year of post-construction monitoring.
